We LOVE Company!!

Our friends Jeff and Geniel McDonald from Mt Pleasant , Utah came for a visit last week. It was so great to see them again. Jeff bought Geniel a car, they bought it from someone in North Carolina. I don't remember all of the details but its the kind of car they already have but newer, the price was very low, the miles were very low, the condition was excellent and it drove great all the way back to Utah. I think they got a killer deal. We had such a great time, we got to go to the temple, We went to Quincy for Sushi (of coarse) and I even got to take a day off from watching kids to go shopping. yea!!
Jeff went to workwith Marty for a day and then Marty took half a day off to show him all that he's been up to down at NRI.
It was a fun few days, We love visitors!!! Especially when they are such good friends.

Winter Formal 2008

Well we had our ward winter formal and it was a blast! We ate prime rib and Salmon for the non beef eaters, we had a live jazz band and they were great! we really had a great time. I complained to my friend Helen when she became the Activities Comittee person that they never do anything fun for the couples anymore. Well she gave me 3 other people and said go for it. lol So this was our second anual Winter formal and it was great. I have to admit the best part was the fact it started at 6pm ended at 9pm and was cleaned up and the church was dark and empty by 10pm. The awesome thing about that was I forgot to specifically ask people to help clean up. I love my ward they just piched in and helped and it was done soooooo fast.

Valentines day at Jamie's house. The kids were all so excited. They brought treats to share and they were all dressed up in red and hearts. It's such a fun day!!

Uncle Curtis

It's so hard to see Uncle Curt go through the same thing dad went through. When they called and said he had a stroke it was right after we found out that Grandpa had the blood clot and President Hinkley had just died. I fell apart. I knew everything would be ok but talk about being hit with one thing after another.
Then I got a bad cold/flu right after that. I'm done! No more sickness or death. And no more COLD! It is freezing here! Like -30 that's just WRONG!
I am ready for Health, Warmth, and happy fuzzy feelings. LOL
BRING ON THE SPRINGTIME!!!!

Lacey and the phone

Ok! We have a real teenager finally. As many of you know if you call our house nobody answers the phone. It's weird. I always thought that as the kids get older they would always be on the phone. It never happened. They never talk on the phone. Kids now just text each other. So when the phone rings they know it isn't for them so they let it ring. Madening!

Well Lacey has fallen out of that mold. She loves to talk on the phone. She is always talking on the phone! She even answers the phone. It's so funny how different each of our girls are. Lacey is our talker. She never stops and we like it that way!

Homecoming Dance

We went shopping for dresses for homecoming. Our Homecoming is during basketball season because basketball is more important than football here in Nauvoo. (Maybe because we have no football team) Here is Amber trying on a few. We don't have any pictures of the actual dress she wore or of the dance at all because my camera was lost for a couple of weeks. lol I tried taking a picture the night of with my camera phone but it was so blurry you can't even see her. I posted it anyway but it doesn't do her justice at all.

Gordon B. Hinckley

I have felt sad for a time since the passing of Sis. Marjorie Hinckly how sad President Hinkley must be. They were so close and it was so fun to watch them interact with each other. Each conference I would listen for him to say his final farewell. I never wanted him to go but I knew he must feel very lonely without her. I love that the purpose of our existence here on earth is founded on the relationship of a husband and wife and extends though our children and grandchildren. With the passing of President Gordon B Hinckley I feel a strong desire share my testimony of the gospel. I do not have an extensive education. I could never go head to head with someone and show proof of my all my beliefs. I am very simple and have a simple but firm belief that Gordon B Hinkley was a true prophet of God. I know that the Lord loves each of us and wants us to be happy. I know that if we follow his commandments and obey his will we will find eternal happiness. I know that the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints it the true church and that the Lord still speaks to us through his prophets. I am so grateful to know that the Lord still loves us and communicates with us through prophets as in the Bible. I am so grateful to know that if I have doubts or questions the Lord will answer me through fasting and prayer. I know that the Lord hears and answers my prayers because I have experienced it and I am never afraid because I know the Lord is there, he knows me personally and he is a loving and charitable God who loves us more than we can comprehend. I know that all that I have and all that I am comes from my Heavenly Father. I know that the way to show my love and appreciation for him is through compassion and service to my friends, neighbors and all who I come in contact with. I am grateful for a husband who loves me and honors me. He is a worthy, humble man who makes me so grateful for an eternal family. I am proud of my children and the choices they make. I am grateful for parents and grandparents who have guided me in life through example and love.I am gratful for siblings with whome I can share my feelings and worries. I know that this life, my life, is as God intended it and I am so thankful for it.
