Lacey went to girls camp.

Lacey has been my best helper this summer. She works two jobs. She cleans cabins for Nauvoo Log Cabins and she works at Annie's Fresh Frozen Custard. Even with all that she find time to help me around the house. I really missed her a lot when she left for stake girls camp.

They had a lot of fun but it was SUPER HOT!!! I can't wait to see pictures. They stayed in cabins and they got to swim and ride down a zip line. She talked for hours when she got home about all the fun she had. I am just glad she is home. I missed her.

Happy Fathers Day!!!

I love my Dad. I am so grateful for him and all that he has done for me in my life.

My husband is pretty awesome too. My girls are lucky to have such an amazing man to love them and take care of them. I love him so much and I am grateful for him and all that he does. I took this picture on Fathers day right before church and after all his meetings.

Nauvoo Update!!

This is the Accommodation center. It's moving along pretty quick. I think it is going to look great.

Amber has been out mowing everyday. They are still having trouble with things being too wet.

The guys were setting up the bathrooms for pageant and look at the ruts in the grass. They even got the trailer stuck in the mud.

They had volunteers trying to help clean up the dead grass because it was so long when they cut it.

They have these big ugly ditches all over trying to drain off the water. I am sure everything will be beautiful by the time pageant starts..in just over a week. :)

It is way too hot in Old Nauvoo!!

It is way too hot in Old Nauvoo. I decided to pull some weeds and work in my garden yesterday. I was sweating so much it looked like I jumped in the pool. I could not drink enough water to keep up. It felt so hot to me and so humid. I thought it was because I am not use to being outside because I am usually stuck inside all day with daycare. I finally went in at 12:00 to feed my family lunch and the girls told me the heat index was 109 degrees. No wonder!!
I am going to work inside today! :) If there are weeds for the wedding oh well it's better than a withered up old prune as a mother of the bride. :)

Tera and the kids came for a visit.

It's raining again!! It has never been so wet here since we moved to Nauvoo. I won't complain too much because my flowers are doing really well, but my basement is wet again so I get to grumble a little. (the hose got pulled out of the sump pump under the house) I was frusterated because Marty has been sick in bed for 3 days, Lynn and Sharon are sleeping over for 2 and Tera and her kids were comming.
Marty's friends at NRI ran over and had it all cleaned up in just a few minutes. I was no longer stressed and we really got to enjoy Tera and the kids.
'

Tera stopped by on her way to Fort Knox, Kentucky to see her husband Erick. It was so fun to see them even though they couldn't stay long. Tera said that the trip was really stormy. The kids are getting so big. I am so glad they came. Tera had stayed here for a few monthes about 4 years ago and while she is here she taught French to Melissa Adams girls. The girls came over to show her that they still remembered the song she taught them.

Lacey got her braces off!!

This is now!

That was then!!

It is amazing what a good Orthodontist can do!
Her Orthodontist was Dr Lane McCord. He was awesome! He just graduated and is starting his practice in Idaho Falls. I wish we lived closer. I just want to shout from the rooftops how wonderful he was with Lacey and just look at her results.

the new Accomodation center in Nauvoo

Here is an updated picture of the accommodation center across from the temple. It is going to be so nice. I can't wait.

Elders Quorum Camp Out

Marty decided it was time for an Elders Quorum activity. He called Dave Hardle and they decided a camp out would be fun. It really really was. Some people camped some just came for dinner but it was a great turn out and everyone had a great time.

Even the little ones had their tents

What a pretty place to camp. About four miles out of Nauvoo on river road at Dave Hardles property.

Our big cooking fire. Waiting for the coals to get started.

Gerri found a great roasting stick

Rob and Jeanette Glass visiting with Wendy Dewey

Savannah Birdsall trying to start a fire the old fashioned way

We had a great turn out

It's been a long time since our family has been camping. The girls were just camping with the young women a week ago so they are use to it.

These smart elders even rented a port-a-pottie for the comfort of all

Young Woman Activity on Temple Marriage

Amber wearing Gwen Krumpermann's dress

Lacey wearing Sherrie Birdsall's Dress
On Wednesday night the girls dressed up in some of the dresses worn to the temple by sisters in the ward and had a fashion show. After the show Sister Peterson, the matron of the Nauvoo Temple came and spoke to them about the temple. The importance of temple marriage and modesty. The types of dresses that are appropriate. She answered questions and gave some wonderful advice. It was a fun evening. Afterward they served cake, nuts and mints and punch. The girls had a great time and we all learned a lot.
