Graduation Party at Tracy's

Since Jessica and Sage are graduating on Thursday we decided to have a little dinner get together for them to celebrate. Sunday was the best day for most people so we invited everyone to come from 12 to 5 because at 6pm was seminary graduation.

Jared and Casi visiting with Tracy. Feel sorry for Casi, I had just finished razzing her about not getting onto her blog for so long. I am sorry Casi for being such a bully! :) I love you!!!

Driving to Utah

We left Friday afternoon to go to Utah. We took Amanda Mathews and Sariah Adams with us. They were going to visit their families in Utah. Amber and Amanda were so great, they drove a lot of the time and made the trip go really fast.
The gas prices were terrible. $3.99 in Illinois and $3.89 in Utah. I think the average was $3.89. That makes for a very expensive trip.

Marty Worries Me a Little Sometimes

Marty is pounding in a steel pole into the ground to stabilize his smoke stack. You would think he would be afraid of scaffolding by now, but not Marty. He actually climbed up on a latter on the top of the scaffolding. (The scariest part was on Saturday when he was trying to raise the top half of the smokestack over his head, it's really heavy, while balancing on a very high wobbley ladder. It was my idea to get the scaffolding)

All if this because on Saturday he decided to raise our smokestack higher so we wouldn't bother the neighbors with our smoke. It seems to have helped.

I will be glad when he is back on terra firma to stay.

A day in the life Jamie

NEED I SAY MORE!!!! HA HA HA HA

Marty's fuzzy little friends.

Marty was working on the props when he looked over and a mama bird was looking at him right at eye level. He never knew she was there. It really startled him. He took these pictures later when she had flown off.

Finished Project

Well the stage is conplete and Marty has been building props, and the missionaries are practicing. I wonder if it will still be called "Sunset by the Mississippi".

Marty's Office

Marty got a new office at NRI so the girls and I went down and decorated it for him. He was really happy. Now he has a place to hang his hat besides his work trailer.
We put lots of photo's around so that he will remember what he is working for. (And to prove he is a Grandpa 4 1/2 times. lol)

Best Mother's Day Ever!!

I had such a fun Mother's day this year! It was just a fun weekend all around. I felt very loved and appreciated! I think I have the best family in the world!

I got roses and a balloon from Amber and Lacey!

Hydrangea's from Hoyt and Dharma's Family (daycare)

A gazing ball that glows at night from Mary Kate and Anna's Family (daycare)

Then my Sweet Hubbie made me a creek. We had to do something to move the run off from the house and usually he buries it underground. I have always wanted a little creek and waterfall so he bought me a waterfall/fountain and then ran the pipe from the sump pump and the rain gutter under the fountain so when we have runoff it looks like it is coming from the waterfall. It is going to be so cool. I have already planted around it and down the creek so by late summer it should look pretty amazing. Yea!!!

On Mother's day we went to church after helping wrap the geraniums that the ward gave out, I got RELEASED from the Primary presidency. (this is the first time in almost 7 years I have been without a calling, lets do a countdown to see how many days that lasts. lol) Then Marty barbecued chicken breasts and hamburgers for supper. We had salad, chips, rice and I made a peach cobbler for dessert. Then we layed around the rest of the day. PERFECT!!

Amber's Sweet Sixteen!!

Amber turned sixteen on Saturday. Some of her friends got together and paid for her to go to SixFlags in St Louis. They got up early. (I don't think she ever slept) and drove in our van down to the amusement park.
It looks to me like they had a great time. They are such a great bunch of kids.

They left just in time to miss the rain, but the car was dead. Someone left the headlights on. So they waited around for the security to come and give them a jump start. Then they drove home. They had cake at the Menke's. By the time they walked in our door they looked like the walking dead. Amber goes on Tuesday to get he drivers license, she can't wait.

She brought gifts for all of us, earrings that she made, crochet bolero style sweater (very unique and really cute) and she has been cooking every night. She even made sushi on Thursday, YUMMY!!
