I hope people realize that the Nauvoo sites are far away from the water. If you are out seeing the sites you won't even realize there is flooding, until you drive down parley street. Then it's just interesting to see how high the water is. The only threatened historical building is the "Nauvoo House" owned by the Community of Christ church, but it isn't even a building that you tour.
Anyone planning a trip to Nauvoo shouldn't worry, it's the same as it ever was. It's a bit of an adventure getting here but the bridges are open and the water is going down and there is a lot to see and do.

That's great....thanks for putting our minds to rest:) Good luck with the concessions....we'll see you there!!
Thank you so much for the flooding updates and info. We are coming there next week and have been very worried about the trip, and even considered canceling. I have checked your blog everyday this last week, and now finally feel at peace about coming. May the Lord bless you and your family for sharing your lives with others!
You don't know me but I am addicted to Nauvoo and truly appreciate your doing this blog. I've been really worried about the Nauvoo House and you alleviated some of my fears. I found you by way of Melanie Sims (a cousin) and was in Nauvoo last summer with the Joseph Smith Jr Family reunion (representing Brighm Youngs family) and got to play in the Nauvoo House. I am so jealous that you are there and not me. Keep soaking it in for all of us who wish we were there all the time. Thanks again! Kari Robinson
