A couple years ago we invested in a Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer. I love them! I would rather have a nice washer and dryer than a nice car. They have been wonderful and nothing makes me happier than doing a load of wash. Except maybe a load of dishes in a really good dishwasher. I am pretty easy to please. Well to my utter horror what I came home from the temple last night the load of wash I had started before I left was stuck in the middle of the cycle with a big F on the digital display. I restarted it and it finished fine. Well today I had the same issue and I was having SUD show on the screen too which bothered me because I was using the HE soap. I tried twice to finish the cycle and it kept freezing up so I panicked! I got online and found the answer.
You have to make sure that you clean out the washer filter regularly. There is nothing in the manual about this! The filter is behind the kick plate of the washer in the front. You have to remove the kick plate and open the filter (have towels and a bucket ready cause there will be water in there!) Open the filter slowly and once the water has been drained, remove any debris in there. I seriously found nails and screws, screw bits, toothpicks, quarters and there was even two little removable inserts from a swimsuit. Once I removed all of that stuff and cleaned out the gunk it worked fine. Better than ever.
It was real easy to do and now my happy little world is a little happier. Cool huh!
Have a great day!!

I am so glad that you were able to figure out what was wrong. I would be furious if the washer broke down so soon.
oooh, I want one! I need a new set so bad!
Jamie, we went thru the same thing about a month ago - although all we found was 1 child's sock in the filter. Glad ya got it fixed!
