Winter Travel Nightmares

Marty, Sage, Amber and Lacey drove to Chicago Tuesday to pick up Luke Turner from the Airport. Luke is Amber's friend from London. He will be spending the Holidays with us. Well it turns out that a snow storm blew in Tuesday and they had a very long drive to Chicago, over 6 hours. Then Luke's flight was canceled. He caught a later flight that came in at 10 pm. His original flight was due to arrive at 3pm. I arranged for a hotel room for them about 10 miles from the airport. It took 2 hours for them to drive there and then 1 hour to get back to pick up Luke. To make matters worse poor Luke's luggage was lost. So he stood in line for another hour just to be told nothing.
On a positive note they made it home safely. Luke was called and informed that his luggage will be arriving soon. (Of course all the schools just closed because there is an Ice Storm on the way and we are expecting about 1 inch of ice followed by a snow storm the next day so he might be without clothes the whole trip. poor boy.) Luke's cell phone won't work here for some reason but Amanda's dad Shawn works for US Cellular and hooked him up with a very cool phone for him to use while he is here. And we REALLY LIKE LUKE!!!

Luke and his cool phone an LG Rhythm with a touch display and a rotating wheel.
"It's sick!" Luke Turner

Wow! Somehow I missed this blog. I didn't look far enough. I am so glad they are home and safe. I hope you just stay inside and warm and dry.
